Kittitian Born Author Launches Book at CEMSS

(EMU) – St. Kitts, February 29, 2016: The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, more specifically the town of Sandy Point has produced yet another published author: John Chris Richardson, son of Enid Richardson, past educator and Principal of the Boy’s School. The book entitled, ‘Looking Back, Through the Eyes of a Teacher’s Son,’ is said to document the moulding of his younger years as influenced by his parents.  Chris’ stories capture the cultural and social lives, in particular of, the town’s inhabitants as well as some aspects of the lives of the Richardson family itself.  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Hon. Shawn Richards, viewed this project as one to encourage youths to explore. He stated “It is moments like these that need commemorating as our young boys and females look for role models.

They need to be able to see through exercises like these, that the streets and alleyways of our communities can be the setting to a masterpiece.”

Author, Mr. Chris Richardson urges the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis to ‘look within’. He explained, “The Caribbean and its small island states continue to rely on the Foreign Direct Investments, which is good but we need to search within.”  He advised, “We need to understand the potential in the children. Idle words should not be spoken over them.”

‘Looking Back - Through The Eyes of a Teacher’s Son’ depicts the true essence of the grassroots of a village, its lasting impact and permanent impression that stand out. Mr. Richardson is an Assistant Manager at CuisinArt Golf Resort and Spa in Rendezvous Bay, Anguilla. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
The book launch ceremony was held at the Charles E. Mills Secondary School, on Friday 26th February.
